Monetary base down 1.6% to UAH 644.383 billion in September

In September 2021, the monetary base which includes liquidity flowing beyond banks and reserves of banks and other currencies decreased by 1.6% to 644.383 billion UAH.

The National Bank of Ukraine said so in a statement, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Since the beginning of the year, the monetary base has increased by 8.1%, from 595.993 billion UAH.

In September, the monetary base increased by 1.1% to 1,927.732 billion UAH, and since the beginning of the year it increased by 4.2% against 1,850.014 billion UAH.

The volume of cash in circulation in September, according to the latest NBU data, fell 0.1% to 543.884 billion UAH, and since the start of the year it has increased by 5.4% per compared to 516.085 billion UAH.

As the Ukrainian news agency reported earlier, in August 2021 the monetary base which includes cash flowing beyond banks and reserves of banks and other cash increased by 1% to reach 654.731 billion UAH.

In 2020, the monetary base increased by 24.8% from UAH 477.491 billion.

In 2020, the amount of cash increased by 34.2%, from 384.366 billion UAH year on year.

In 2019, the monetary base increased by 9.6%, from 435.798 billion UAH year on year to 477.491 billion UAH.

In 2018, monetary base increased 9.2% from 399.1 billion UAH year-on-year.
