ENGLAND goalkeeper Jordan Pickford received the Euro 2020 Golden Glove award – despite the final loss to Italy.
The 27-year-old has kept five clean goals during the tournament, two more than Italian stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Pickford won the award after preventing Croatia, Scotland, Czech Republic, Germany and Ukraine from scoring.
He conceded just two goals during the tournament, the first being a stunning free kick from Danish star Mikkel Damsgaard in the semi-final.
Swiss stopper Yann Sommer made the most stops at Euro – 21 – with Pickford not appearing at the top of this list.
Everton’s lack of action is a testament to England’s defense, with a few defenders likely to be named to the tournament squad.
Pickford has had a stellar summer, breaking the England record for most minutes without conceding.
He went 725 minutes without letting one in, surpassing Gordon Banks’ total of 720 minutes – set at the World Cup in 1966.

But it did DO NOT turn out to be auspicious as Italy beat England at Wembley to win the Euro for the second time.
The match ended 1-1 after 90 minutes, with Leonardo Bonucci canceling Luke Shaw’s opener.
He went on penalties after neither side managed to take the overtime advantage and Pickford heroically saved two – but England missed three.
The goalie’s form has improved dramatically since he grew his hair out earlier this year.
Pickford also tied Iker Casillas’ clean sheet record at Euro, with the Spain keeper leaving just five at Euro 2012.
