FOOTBALL mad rooster Jordan Peckford is hoping to have a feather in his cap – after predicting England will beat Ukraine.

The Sun’s own chicken, Kiev, was shown to be no bird brain when asked to choose between two bowls full of food placed on a hay bale.

The red and white wonder was not long in mocking the one marked England. And then he brazenly doubled his verdict by, uh, taking a hit in Ukraine’s.

The four-month-old baby, named after Three Lions goalie Jordan Pickford, is owned by farmers Andrew and Ruth Pollard, both 49.

They eagerly watch England’s progress to Euro 2020 with their four children.

Sunderland fan Andrew, a fifth generation farmer, said: “I watched Jordan Pickford start his career with us before his big budget moved to Everton.

“His saves against Germany were spectacular. He has been the tournament keeper so far.

“Four games and four clean sheets is quite a record.

“I don’t want to count my chickens too early, but I think it’s coming home.”

Ruth – who along with Andrew runs Pollards of Thirkleby, near Thirsk, North Yorks – agreed: “It’s superb so far. And Jordan has pretty much told us what he thinks about Ukraine’s chances.

“Not only did he have poo in their bowl, but he spilled it. He didn’t want them at all.

Expatriate fans in Rome

THREE Lions fans from England have been banned from watching tomorrow’s quarter-final.

But proud expatriate supporters – dubbed the Salami Army – were rushing to get tickets and cheer on Our Boys.

Italy has warned that anyone who has been in the UK in the past fortnight will be banned from the Stadio Olimpico.

Many of the 30,000 Britons living in Italy rushed to get tickets.

Teacher Dawn Hughes, 59, who lives in Rome, took one.

She told The Sun, “I just can’t wait. We will cheer and sing with all our hearts for the team and for Queen and her country. “

English fans from other EU countries are also heading to Rome.

Joel Phillips, 29, who lives in Hamburg, said: “I needed to make the boys scream because the Barmy army couldn’t travel.”

“They are on a wing and a prayer for him. But they’ll probably call poultry.

Fans will want to see Ukraine in a mixed bag at tomorrow night’s big game in Rome, which will decide whether England reach the semi-finals for the first time since Euro 96.

  • The stars of ENGLAND are crazy about Love Island. Luke Shaw revealed, “Sometimes we watch a movie together. But now it’s Love Island. 9 p.m., that’s all. You can book your treatment hours so that you are right on the bed when it comes. Most of us sit there and watch it.
