Brussels Airlines relaunches Hurghada, Kiev and Lanzarote, launches the Marrakech line in the winter timetable

With slight growth in business travel week after week and strong demand for holiday travel to sunny winter destinations, Brussels Airlines expects winter to be busier than last year. The airline is experiencing an extended vacation period as it notes high demand for winter-sun destinations. While demand for leisure travel to typical vacation destinations typically declines at the end of the summer vacation, the airline is now also seeing strong demand for vacation destinations in the fall.

Europe & Middle East

With the addition of Lanzarote from October 31, Brussels Airlines is strengthening its presence in the Canary Islands, where it will also serve Tenerife and Gran Canaria this winter. In addition to these last two destinations, there are additional frequencies during the Belgian school holidays. With flights on Thursdays and Saturdays, Lanzarote is the perfect destination for a shorter and longer winter vacation in the sun.

Kiev will join the network again from December 16. Another novelty in Brussels Airlines’ winter program is the continuation of Yerevan, which was previously only offered during the summer season. Flights to Yerevan will be operated twice a week.

In addition, the Belgian airline’s offer for the coming winter includes the following European destinations: Alicante, Barcelona, ​​Basel, Berlin, Bilbao, Birmingham, Bologna, Budapest, Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Faro, Frankfurt, Geneva, Gothenburg , Gran Canaria, Hamburg, Lisbon, Ljubljana, London, Lyon, Madrid, Malaga, Manchester, Marseille, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa, Nice, Oslo, Paris, Porto, Prague, Rome, Stockholm (Bromma), Tenerife, Toulouse, Valence , Venice, Vienna and Vilnius.

Brussels Airlines will offer flights to the Greek destinations Athens, Heraklion, Kos and Rhodes and the Italian destination Naples until the end of the autumn holidays.

In the Middle East, Tel Aviv and Yerevan will be served eight and twice a week respectively.

Africa and North Atlantic

Following the strong demand for winter-sun destinations, Brussels Airlines is adding Hurghada to its network from 31^st October. It will be the first time since March 2020 that the Egyptian destination has been part of the airline’s network. Also, the North African destination Marrakech is joining the network this winter as a new destination in the Brussels Airlines offer.

Also during winter, Brussels Airlines continues to operate to its vast network of sub-Saharan Africa comprising the following destinations: Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Accra (Ghana), Banjul (Gambia), Cotonou (Benin), Dakar ( Senegal), Freetown (Sierra Leone), Lomé (Togo), Monrovia (Liberia), Douala (Cameroon), Kinshasa (DRC), Luanda (Angola), Yaoundé (Cameroon), Bujumbura (Burundi), Entebbe (Uganda), Kigali (Rwanda).

Since the US government’s announcement to lift the travel ban in force in November for fully vaccinated passengers, Brussels Airlines has noted a significant increase in bookings for its flights to New York (JFK). The airline plans to operate four frequencies per week during the winter season and may add additional flights to the schedule during the winter holiday period if market demand continues to grow.
